Here are some miscellaneous pictures that were taken during the weekend. I shrunk them to fit reasonably onto a single page. Click on any picture that interests you to see a larger version.
Beauties and the BruceI saw these three taking a well-deserved break right before the start of stadium jumping. Considering my fatal attraction to beautiful female riders, it's ironic (or maybe fortunate) that the only one I recognize here is Bruce Davidson (he's the one on the right, for those who are even less familiar with equestrian celebrities than I am.) |

More BeautySpeaking of beautiful riders. Early Saturday morning, we had staked out a vantage point on a hillside giving us a great view of fences 5 and 6, and a distant shot at some others. I looked around and saw this vision behind me in a golf cart. I stopped hyperventilating long enough to snap a picture (thanks to auto-focus, I probably wouldn't have been able to focus manually), and check my program to find that #22 was Linden Wiesman. She wasn't just relaxing and enjoying the show; she was planning her ride by watching others. I heard her counting Karen O'Connor's strides between jumps 5 and 6; then she and her chauffeur sped off to another jump before I had a chance to make a complete fool of myself. (Note - later that year, Linden competed in the Olympics in Sydney; definitely not just another pretty face!) |

Official Internet Equestrians Group PhotoThe hunters become the hunted, or the photographers become the photographed. We showed up for the officially scheduled group photo, but nobody else did. Well, Tim and Deb claimed they were trying to attract our attention from the other side of the water, but are you going to believe a Canuck and a Buckeye? We managed to cajole some friendly strangers into taking this picture. Click the picture for a larger version, or here for a less close-up one, which makes it harder to recognize the people, but more obvious that we're stranded on an island. |

A Good Idea Catches OnThe friendly folks that we asked to take our picture seemed a little surprised when we explained where we wanted it taken. But when they saw that we didn't get hauled away in handcuffs, they decided it was a good idea. |
