Foxhunting Tales
This is a sampling of some of the most eloquent (or amusing) submissions to the Foxhunters Online email discussion group (also known as FOL). Your humble editor decided to reproduce them here so that others who do not know the joy of FOL could enjoy them.
- Thanksgiving 1998 Irish Expeditionary Hunt
- A long and collaborative tale of the foxhunting adventures and misadventures of an intrepid group of FOL subscribers from the United States during their Thanksgiving week pilgrimage to Ireland. Updated - Jan 15, 1999
- Hunt for Emerald Isle
- Jeff Eichler, one of the writers and star players of the previous saga, and one of FOL's most adventurous and prolific writers, was so enthused by the previous journey that he returned in 1999 and treated us to this breathtaking account. Updated - Sep 28, 1999
- Eichler returns to Ireland
- And yet another well-written saga from the well-travelled Jeff Eichler, who returned to Ireland in January 2000. This trip included a stop in New York for the annual MFHA ball, as well as a swing through Virginia to get there. Currently, we only have the first two installments of the story, in which Jeff hasn't yet left this continent; we'll update this story with additional installments as he sends them. (Observation: If you're ever looking for the shortest, most efficient route between two points, don't ask Jeff. If, on the other hand, you subscribe to the theory that getting there is half the fun and want the most exciting journey, consider travelling with him.)

- Back in the USA
- A sequel to Jeff Eichler's Ireland 2000 saga. After his return to the colonies, he made a swing through the South. Since the Ireland file was already fairly large, I thought it made sense to split the Tour de South into a separate file.

- Chase to Fells Point
- Ahh .. those were the days. This is the kind of old-time foxhunting saga that newcomers like myself will probably never be fortunate enough to experience. Submitted by Mary Fauber, one of the participants, this is the story of a Baltimore-area hunt in the early 1960's which ended up in the city, complete with mounted police escort.

- Bad Girls Tour - 1998
- The First Annual(?) Bad Girls Tour, consisting of female FOLers and whatever unsuspecting males they could entice into escorting them, occurred in Feb-March 1998. We are pleased to be able to present you with this collage of stories that were posted on FOL as the tour unfolded.

- Bad Girls Tour II - Fall 1998

- Bad Girls Do London - Fall 2002
- The Bad Girls went global in 2002, taking their tour across the pond to hunt with their British brethren and to show international solidarity for the support of liberty and livelihood in response to the British government's proposed ban on hunting.

- Bad Boys Tour
- Snatching up the gender gauntlet, or just looking for an excuse to escape a Canadian winter, these bluenoses headed south for a tour of their own. Readers are free to make their own choice about which is more illustrious.

- Western Challenge 2000
- Eleven packs of foxhounds and one pack of beagles, from Kansas to California participated in the Western Hunt Challenge Tour, April 12-30, 2000. John Auborn created this web page describing the tour, which includes copies of reports that were posted on FOL, along with photos taken by Beverly Heffernan, one of the organizers.
- Carrolton Hounds Tree Flagman
- Submitted by Joe Bills, this is an amusing story of a pack losing the hunted fox and "accounting for" another quarry.
